After all, saying “I do” is saying to your partner that you’re ready to spend the rest of your life with them no matter what. But, as we all know and love, most Hollywood relationships don’t last as long as we’d like, even if there are vows and rings involved.

For many celebrities, however, their brief relationships have one major reason to blame: they were just too young. In fact, so many of our favorite celebrities walked down the aisle when they were still teenagers. That’s right, they became officially husbands and wives before they were even allowed to drink!

From Drew Barrymore and Demi Moore to Kim Kardashian and Marilyn Monroe, check out all the stars who said “I do” before reaching their 20s below!

Jewel Dated Another A-List Actor Before Kevin Costner — See Her Full Dating History https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/slideshow/2921728/jewel-dating-history/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/slideshow/2921728/jewel-dating-history/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 22:31:09 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?post_type=pmc-gallery&p=2921728 Jewel is embarking on a new romance with Kevin Costner but, according to her dating history, it’s not her first time being linked to a big name in Hollywood.

The singer-songwriter lives a relatively low-key life but her budding relationship with Costner has thrust her personal life into the spotlight. Photos of Jewel, 49, and the Yellowstone actor, 68, cozying up to one another during a fundraiser vacation on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands in early December first confirmed that the couple were dating but insiders report that their relationship started before the trip.

Of course, Costner’s love life has been highly publicized amid his divorce from ex-wife Christine Baumgartner, which was finalized in September after months of back and forth over child support, property and assets following their breakup in May. The Dances With Wolves actor’s second divorce left many fans speculating about who he would date next until his romance with Jewel shut down rumors about all of the other suspected love interests.

Jewel’s dating history, however, is a little less talked about than her new beau but that’s not to say that she hasn’t had her fair share of celebrity romances. The You Were Meant For Me singer is a mom-of-one and has been married once, to rodeo cowboy Ty Murray with whom she shares a son. Jewel has also had a few high-profile romances scattered throughout her lengthy career.

To see Jewel’s full dating history and find out which A-list actor she dated long before Costner, keep reading.

Mandy Moore Tells Us Why Her New 'Dr. Death' Role Is the Total Opposite of 'This Is Us' https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/videos/2921948/mandy-moore-dr-death-opposite-this-is-us/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/videos/2921948/mandy-moore-dr-death-opposite-this-is-us/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 20:35:32 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?post_type=pmc_top_video&p=2921948 If you’ve gotten used to watching Mandy Moore play a loving matriarch in This Is Us, her latest project will subvert everything you’ve been accustomed to seeing the actress do. In the latest season of Peacock’s true crime drama, Dr. Death, Moore is playing Benita Alexander, an investigative reporter who is seduced by Italian thoracic surgeon Paolo Macchiarini. The suspenseful, twisting drama — which is based on true events — sees Moore in one of her darkest plots yet.

The show is streaming on Peacock now but, ahead of its release, Moore chatted with us alongside Edgar Ramirez who plays the deceitful and manipulative Dr. Macchiarini.

“It is such a departure,” Moore said of her decision to take on the role of an NBC journalist who was conned into a relationship with the disgraced doctor who knowingly performed experimental transplant surgeries on patients without sufficient scientific evidence resulting in many deaths.

“It was a very intentional move in a different direction to do something that feels totally so different than anything I’ve really ever dipped my toe in before,” Moore continued. “I’m fascinated that people like Paolo exists in the world, and that people like Benita, this very capable, smart, accomplished woman could find herself, you know, in a position vulnerable enough to fall victim and be susceptible to this kind of degree of manipulation.”

And yet, as different as Benita Alexander is from Moore’s This Is Us character Rebecca Pearson, the actress plays both character with depth and heart. The show’s executive producer and writer, Ashley Michel Hoban, told us she was astounded by how Moore tackled the character.

“It’s just such a privilege to watch her bring this character to life in a really nuanced way,” Michel Hoban says. “It’s pivotal because we we meet Paolo through Benita’s point of view. We’re skeptical the same way she is skeptical and, when he wins her over, that’s an important point for the audience to be won over. So [Moore] really delivered with the kind of warmth, intelligence, savviness and trustworthiness that she brings to screen.”

Opposite her, Ramirez expertly plays the charismatic and convincing Macchiarini who deceives colleagues, patients and the medical community into participating his dangerous surgeries. Moore and Ramirez are joined on-screen by Luke Kirby, Ashley Madekwe and Gustaf Hammarsten, Macchiarini’s colleagues who are also swept along in his lies.

The at times difficult to watch medical malpractice narrative is interjected by Macchiarini and Alexander’s love story that plays a key role in the Italian surgeon’s ability to keep his deceptions hidden. Moore says, “Getting to see the duality of, like, he was that person professionally and he was that person personally as well, it’s sort of like true pathological narcissism at play.”

“What makes the the second season so unique and interesting,” Ramirez adds, “is precisely the love story that lives at the core, at the very center of the story.”

Ramirez describes the season as “a deeper exploration of greater subjects of humanity: trust, betrayal, fantasy, the need to believe and the need to retell your story.” The show weaves between all these elements but keeps both the viewer and the characters as captives in Macchiarini’s grip.

“That’s what great manipulators do. They’re very sensitive in identifying your vulnerabilities and just get through those cracks to wherever they need to go,” Ramirez says. Yet, in spite of his iron grip, the fate Macchiarini ends up laying in the capable hands of Moore’s character and his colleagues, and audiences can expect to be surprised by how that fate is reached.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Revealed How Hollywood Took Advantage of Her Image at a Young Age https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2922029/jennifer-love-hewitt-sexualized-hollywood-teen-star/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2922029/jennifer-love-hewitt-sexualized-hollywood-teen-star/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 19:33:00 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?p=2922029 It feels like Jennifer Love Hewitt has been famous for most of her life, but she’s revealing that there are consequences to everyone knowing her name at a young age. Hollywood became tough to navigate as a teen star because there were expectations placed on her image at a very tender time in her development.

On the Dec. 5 episode of the Inside of You podcast, Hewitt explained how she was sexualized as a young performer. It was a time when she was “insecure” and “didn’t feel self-confident” about herself. “I felt watched. I felt like I had to be everything for everybody all the time. I was called sexy before I ever knew what being sexy was,” she shared. “I was 17 years old on the cover of Maxim, and I had no idea why. I was honored. I loved it. But why?”

And it wasn’t just the Maxim cover, Hewitt also felt sexualized on the set of Heartbreakers, which she filmed in 2001 at the age of 23. “I remember doing ‘Heartbreakers’ at 23 and the director [David Mirkin] was like, ‘We just need you to be sexier.’ I had to pull him aside and be like, ‘I don’t know what that means. I’m only 23,’” Hewitt recalled. “I know that I’m supposed to be this thing for people, but I don’t know what that means. He had to help me figure that out.”

It was an awkward time for her because Hewitt was making that big transition from her teen years into young womanhood. What makes the sexualization even more uncomfortable in 2023 is that fans sometimes voice their wishes that Hewitt still looked like the younger version of herself.

“It’s weird for me when people are like, ‘That’s the girl that we wanted you to be,’” Hewitt continued. “That girl was so insecure and so confused and trying her best. But this girl [now] — who may not look [that] way — I like who I am. I feel good. I’m fine.” The good news is that the 9-1-1 star now has the confidence to call herself sexy.

“I mean, not every day, but you know, I have my moments,” Hewitt summed up. “There’s definitely times where I look in the mirror and I’m like, ‘Oh, dear god, what has happened?’ And there’s other times where I’m like, ‘She’s got it. She’s fine.’”

Brittany Mahomes Is Speaking Out After Internet Trolls Took a Turn for the Worse on Her Social Media https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921873/brittany-mahomes-internet-trolls-speaking-out/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921873/brittany-mahomes-internet-trolls-speaking-out/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 19:27:00 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?p=2921873 While fame and celebrity are something many of us only dream of, celebrities often remind us that their lives are not all they’re cut out to be. For Brittany Mahomes, who’s happily married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, having their lives in the limelight has had its pros and cons. Most recently, however, especially given her newfound friendship with Taylor Swift, it seems like online trolls have taken a turn for the worse.

Among the rude comments on Mahomes’ recent Instagram pic, for example, are people criticizing every part of the post, from where she is to her appearance. In the post, Mahomes shared a few pictures of her on the sidelines before a match. As for her look, she’s seen rocking a black leather mini-skirt, a black sweater, high matching boots, a cream-colored jacket and a bright red bag.

“Why do wives/gfs feel the need to be on the field before game?? They should ban it. No reason for it,” commented one user. “How old is she? Is she 45?” commented another.

Seeing all these negative comments pile up, the mom of two decided to speak out. “Recently there has been ALOT more rude a– people on here, waaaay more then[sic] normal,” Mahomes wrote on her Instagram Story, per People.

“I’m not sure where y’all came from, but you should probably go back to where you came from…please,” she wrote, pleading for everyone to mind their own business.

Knowing that Mahomes uses her social media to share her life as a wife and a mom to her kids, Bronze, 1, and Sterling, 2, we can’t imagine how stressful it is to see her social media become a place for such negativity.

In fact, before posting her game-day outfit, Mahomes posted hilarious pictures of her kids posing with Santa Claus ahead of the holidays. In the pictures, the family of four is sitting right next to a jolly Saint Nicholas. Unfortunately, however, while the adults all have the same big grins on their faces, Sterling and Bronze both have sad and confused expressions on their faces. Talk about a classic parenting moment!

Here’s hoping Mahomes’ trolls soon find someone else to criticize and her page goes back to celebrating her and her family’s accomplishments, milestones and occasional hilarious Christmas portrait!

Kelly Clarkson Is Prioritizing This Crucial Aspect of Her Personal Life Before She Dates Again https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921963/kelly-clarkson-self-care-before-relationship/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921963/kelly-clarkson-self-care-before-relationship/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 18:58:34 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?p=2921963 Kelly Clarkson is in the middle of a personal renaissance after a challenging few years with her divorce from Brandon Blackstock. With the court proceedings (mostly) behind her, the 41-year-old TV personality is thinking about what she wants and needs most in her personal life — and dating is definitely a hot topic for her.

In the Wednesday, Dec. 20 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the “Since U Been Gone” singer talked about getting back in the dating game with guest Shannen Doherty, who is also in the middle of a divorce from ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko. While the Beverly Hills 90210 star is ready to find love again, Clarkson revealed that she’s hesitant to make that big leap right now. “I am still in the stage of like really enjoying me, so I am not there,” she said.

The women bonded over the sweet love their dogs gave them while dealing with the grief over the end of their marriages. Clarkson joked about preferring her furry friend over a boyfriend right now. “I like dog love for the moment,” she said. But she switched to a more serious tone and gave insight into what she’s thinking right now when it comes to the status of her dating life.

“I think, too, there’s a lot to learn about yourself in a relationship and how you are in a relationship. I think I need a little more work on that end of it. … I think I need a little bit more work on me in a relationship and how to make sure I take care of myself at the same time as somebody else,” Clarkson noted about loving herself first before she brings a partner into her world again. But it sounds like the mom of two is on a healthy path to rediscovering herself.

“It’s not so much that I’m like, ‘Ugh, men,’ it’s just like, maybe a little work on me. And also, I love me, and I love spending time with me! It’s really great. It feels powerful,” Clarkson said triumphantly. And we love that for her!

Clarkson has been an open book about her 2022 divorce from Blackstock that resulted in a brutal financial fight. He contested their prenuptial agreement and wound up with a one-time payment of $1.3 million, plus $45,600 per month in child support for their kids, River Rose, 9, and Remington Alexander, 7. His $115,000 per month spousal support payments will cease in January 2024.

All the Celebrities Who Have Hosted the Golden Globes — Including the Newly-Announced 2024 Host https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/slideshow/2694368/golden-globes-celebrity-hosts/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/slideshow/2694368/golden-globes-celebrity-hosts/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 18:03:00 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?post_type=pmc-gallery&p=2694368 The Golden Globes is fast approaching and we officially have a host for the show which means award season is well and truly here.

Every year, not only does the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recognize excellence in film and television by choosing who wins which award, but they choose the perfect host for the Golden Globes. Choosing a host, though, is a bit wackier than many would think.

Despite being an awards show staple while on the road to the Oscars, there’s a lot about the Golden Globes that people don’t know. Like, despite being around since 1944, there weren’t official hosts until 1995?!

Seriously, for over 50 years, there wasn’t a host for the prestigious awards. It’s hard to imagine, to be quite frank, now that hosts are a staple in nearly every award show like this. In recent years, the Globes have done their best to offer up vibrant, interesting hosts and we’ve loved it. Last year, first-time host Jerrod Carmichael took the stage for the 80th Golden Globe Awards and proved that a fresh face can carry the whole show. This year will be no different as another first-timer takes on hosting duties.

From stand-up comedians to unexpected acting duos, the HFPA pick some very surprising hosts. Check out the pick for 2024 and every other celebrity who has hosted the Golden Globes (and those who’ve hosted multiple times) over the years below!

Prince William’s Cheeky Nickname From This Family Member Is Not What We Expected for a Future King https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921806/prince-william-mike-tindall-drinking-nickname/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921806/prince-william-mike-tindall-drinking-nickname/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 17:42:23 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?p=2921806 Although most of what we see the British royal family do involves a lot of poise and protocol, a recent confession from a royal has us realizing that they can be just like us sometimes. Most recently, Mike Tindall, the husband to Princess Anne‘s daughter Zara Tindall, admitted the cheeky nickname he has for Prince William.

“The Prince of Wales is known to me as ‘One Pint Willy’ because he’s not the best of drinkers,” the former rugby player revealed of the future king during BBC’s The Total Sports Podcast, per Us Weekly.

“[I am] coming from a sport where it is built on the social aspect and a couple of beers being sunk quite often,” he explained. “That is one I will definitely give away for the Prince of Wales. ‘One Pint Willy.’ It’s out there now. Sorry, sir!” How hilarious!

Zara, who was also in attendance, then joked her husband would be “in so much trouble” for revealing the cheeky nickname. “A lot of those nicknames kind of fly around,” she said.

Luckily for royal fans, this isn’t the first time Mike has dished on the royals and their hilarious stories about drinking. During an appearance in his The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast in September, for example, Tindall poked fun at special guest Kate Middleton‘s competitive side.

“I’ve seen her play beer pong,” he joked. Middleton, for her part, seemingly denied the rumors. “I’m really not that competitive,” she said jokingly. “I don’t know where this has come from.”

Soon after, however, Middleton admitted to having a competitive side, beer pong and beyond. “I don’t think we’ve actually managed to finish a game [of] tennis, the two of us,” the Duchess admitted, looking at her husband. “It becomes a mental challenge between the two of us.”

William then agreed, saying their games together end up being about “who can out-mental each other.”

And while these two might still have to work through their feelings when it comes to playing games with one another, we’re just loving Mike for spilling their secrets. Let’s keep them coming!

Jennifer Lopez Revealed This Aspect of Her 2002 Relationship With Ben Affleck Still Haunts Them https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921861/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-ptsd-media-2002/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921861/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-ptsd-media-2002/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 17:32:43 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?p=2921861 Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have basically lived to lifetimes together — the Bennifer era and the reboot. It took 18 years for them to get to the finish line as Mr. and Mrs. after learning quite a few valuable lessons along the way. And Lopez’s new album, This Is Me… Now which drops Feb. 16, 2024, will also have a revealing short film that documents her love story with Affleck.

Her upcoming album is the 20-year follow-up to her This Is Me… Then hit record, so like her romance, her music career is also split in two parts. Lopez revealed to Variety that she and Affleck are somewhat hesitant to put their lives on display in such a vulnerable way again because they “both have PTSD” from the media circus over 20 years ago. However, she believes that they have a more mature grasp of what is real in their private lives versus the public narrative.

“But we’re older now. We’re wiser. We also know what’s important, what’s really important in life, and it’s not so much what other people think,” she explained. “It’s about being true to who you are.” When the dynamic duo got engaged the first time around, the details about the big moment was spilled to Diana Sawyer in November 2002.

“It’s just a blanket, a quilt of rose petals, all over the whole entire house,” Lopez shared to Sawyer. “So many candles, and vases, bouquets. And my song “Glad” was playing … I walk in and I was just overwhelmed. I wasn’t expecting it, and I was just like ‘Oh, my God.'” Lopez was crying “incredible purging tears of happiness,” but their love story wouldn’t go the distance the first time around.

After the 2004 split, which was rumored to be caused by Affleck’s wandering eye, Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony and have twins, Max and Emme. Affleck started a family with Jennifer Garner, sharing three kids, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. By 2021, they somehow found their way back to each other after their respective divorces and breaking up with subsequent significant others.

The engagement in 2022 was a much more subdued affair and only a few details were revealed in Lopez’s On the J.Lo newsletter. “Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” she wrote. “I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time.” The lessons were learned from the painful past as the couple started a fresh page and put Bennifer 1.0 officially behind them.

This Diary Entry Carey Mulligan Wrote After Meeting Marcus Mumford at Age 12 Has Us Gushing https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921750/carey-mulligan-marcus-mumford-diary-entry/ https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2921750/carey-mulligan-marcus-mumford-diary-entry/#respond Thu, 21 Dec 2023 16:57:02 +0000 https://www.sheknows.com/?p=2921750 If you haven’t already heard, actress Carey Mulligan and musician Marcus Mumford have one of the sweetest love stories in Hollywood. After meeting for the first time in camp when they were just 10 and 12 years old, the two became pen pals and reconnected many years later and finally started dating and got married. How adorable, right?

And while we can barely contain our enthusiasm with what we already know about these two, the Promising Young Woman star recently revealed even more gushing details about their story together. “We were friends when we were kids. We went to camp together,” Mulligan detailed in a recent episode of the Smartless podcast with hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, per Page Six.

“I wrote in my diary that he was the nicest, the kindest person I’d ever met and I gave him 9 1/2 out of 10,” the Maestro star remembered.

And while her first impression of the Mumford & Sons vocalist was great, she wasn’t convinced about any of it turning romantic just yet. “I also wrote in my diary that he definitely wasn’t boyfriend material,” she added. “Not that I’d ever had a boyfriend at that time. But I decided that he was not it.”

“We were pen pals for a couple of years, then we lost touch [and] then the internet happened,” Mulligan explained.

When Mulligan was 24, and Mumford was 22, the two reconnected and began their relationship. Now, the two, who tied the knot in 2012, share three kids: daughter Evelyn Grace, 7, son Wilfred, 5, and their newborn daughter, who was born in October of this year.

Whether you knew their story before or not, we’re thinking we can all agree it’s one of the best love stories in the business!
