Anderson Cooper’s Son Has a Hilariously Unconventional Request From Santa: ‘Back-Up’ Body Parts

All Anderson Cooper‘s son wants for Christmas is… well, something he already has two of and hopefully won’t ever need to replace.

During this week’s episode of the All There Is with Anderson Cooper podcast, the news anchor revealed his 3-year-old’s robust Christmas wishlist, and while a few items are certainly unconventional, there’s one in particular that’s quite an odd ask, even for a toddler.

“This is the first Christmas Wyatt is really excited about,” Cooper said. “He’s nearly 4 and has fully woken up to the fact that Santa brings gifts, reindeer land on roofs, and ‘Jingle Bells’ is a song he can sing all day long,” the dad of two funnily explained.

As for Wyatt’s list of requests from Santa, a few things stand out from the rest. “He wants a toy car, two candy canes, a rainbow, a pillow, and knees,” Cooper relayed. A rainbow is a big ask, and a pillow is pretty random, but it’s the body parts that we’re giggling over. Knees? You can’t make this stuff up, and we can’t help but laugh.

The journalist quipped, “For the record, he has two knees that seem to work just fine, but apparently he wants some back-ups.” Pragmatic, we will admit! Cooper added, “It was late and we decided to decorate the tree the following morning. When I put Wyatt to bed, he was so excited.” When you’ve got a brand new set of knees waiting for you, what’s not to be excited about? If only the 3-year-old knew how valid his request might be decades in the future — #adulting and all that jazz.

In addition to Wyatt, the CNN anchor also shares a 1-year-old son named Sebastian with his former partner, Benjamin Maisani. After welcoming their eldest, Cooper told People, “It feels like my life has actually begun. This is a new level of love. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced.” Being asked for knees surely falls in the camp of “unlike anything I’ve experienced” as well.
