The rumors were already out there that Kevin Costner and Jewel might have struck up a flirtation while on a tennis fundraiser vacation on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, but the clues now point to the possibility that they are officially a couple. Costner, who has been in the headlines all year with a contentious divorce from Christine Baumgartner, didn’t hold onto his Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor title very long.

The photos, published by TMZ, show the dynamic duo not hiding the fact that there is a connection between them. The 49-year-old pop-folk singer, who divorced her husband Ty Murray in 2014, is seen sitting in Costner’s lap while she is talking into a microphone. The Yellowstone star is sitting behind her with his hands wrapped affectionately around her waist, and a mischievous smile on his face. Jewel is the founder of the Inspiring Children Foundation that was throwing the fundraiser, and Costner was a guest, but it seems this romance was happening under the radar before the event.

The media outlet reported that they flew to and from the island together and spent over a week there. One insider noted, “There was definitely something going on. They were flirty, and when they were together, it was like they both just lit up.” Another source added, “You could tell they were trying to be discreet, but anybody who saw them could tell something was going on.” Those are pretty telling clues since it is hard to hide that electricity at the beginning of any dating situation. And if that wasn’t enough, Jewel may have left fans a few breadcrumbs on her Instagram account.

In a reel that featured highlights of the trip, she not only snuck in a group photo with the 68-year-old actor in it, but she also gave him a shoutout in the caption. “Every year, my foundation @inspiringchildren and I go to Necker Island to help host a tennis event w @richardbranson to raise funds for our kids,” she wrote. “…it’s an incredible time, and one I use to relax, rest and play w my son! @kevincostnermodernwest was kind enough to mentor our kids this year, and Sir Richard was his usual inspiring self- who also plays a mean game of doubles!” While it’s not known how long they’ve been dating, they sure have kept it fairly low-key… until now. Let’s consider this their official couple debut.
