Let me guess: you stumbled upon this gift guide by Googling “best last-minute gifts for kids on Amazon.” You’re not one of those parents who has had their entire Christmas shopping list checked off by September. You’re one of those parents who is, well, Googling “best last-minute gifts.” Between trying to create holiday merriment and keeping everything straight — not only regular life, which itself is taxing, but the seasonal extras like “Ugly Sweater Day” at school and holiday concerts and cookie exchanges — you are up to your eyeballs in festivities and to-do lists. As I’m compiling this gift guide I am literally staring at the barren undercarriage of my Christmas tree and cringing inwardly, knowing that there are less than two weeks before Christmas and I have four — four! — children to buy for. I’m putting this guide together for my fellow holiday procrastinators, so we can get those gifts in time like the rockstar parents we are and no one (except you and me) will know we squeaked ’em in just under the wire.
